Eleven overweight individuals embark on a fitness nutrition boot camp in The Ardennes. By facing the demons of their obesity and their past, they hope to find a lighter, more bearable existence. From the outset it appears that participants of the ‘Albatros’ slimming camp carry not only physical, but also emotionally excess pounds with them. It gets though, fast. They’re physically challenged by a not so subtle coach. The grouptherapist tries to get them out of their comfort zone as well. Their protective layers that have kept the outside world and their past at bay, are slowly removed one by one. Until the formerly obese founder of the camp, one who everyone looks up to, seems not to be trusted and appears to carry a dark secret with him.
